I personally prefer ‘commented game record’ mode to utube video commentary in dialogue style. Do you still serve commented game record? After subsribing utube channel, I cannot have access to it. How can I do?

It is not the video itself, but time is taken too long to spend on watching. I think for many of high level amateur players, many points in the video is rather tedious, and distracting.

One suggetion: the actual playing game and game commenting would better be posted together side by side. Otherwise, following the commentay leads you to many branches, or side roads, that you may get lost. It’s rather confusing, and concentration is bothered.

Thanks anyhow for your commitment, and the effort to improve.

    • Younggil An says:

Thanks a lot for your feedback.

I’ll keep making the commentaries, so please don’t worry about that.

I also understand that the video can be more distracting and harder to understand, but we’d like to give it a try, and let’s see how it’s going.

We didn’t think about actual game commenting, but we’ll consider of that as well.

Thanks again for your suggestion with feedback.

  5. Nice video! Younggil your english sounds more aussie now!

  6. Great job!

I think if you want to popularise Go on a larger scale – YouTube videos is a best way to go.

I want to point that there is some requirements, that your video needs to meet, to have a bigger chance to become popular. It goes about lenght, presentation and so on. I strongly recommend you to find someone who is good with that type of things.

As an expamle: mr. Younggil An is quite nice looking person, and that should help lot with popularising game of Go, even it may sound weird. And its also a compliment 🙂

    With my best regards

      Thanks Dmitriy for your opinion.

I know there’ll be many ways to improve the quality of the videos, and the feedback and ideas like yours can be a lot of help for us. 🙂

  7. very nice to see you speaking 🙂

  8. I just recently started watching this video series so I have tons to watch. I like both sgf and video commentary. Variety is good. Thank you.

An hour is probably the max time this amateur can focus on a Go vid haha. I also enjoyed Guo Juan’s short lectures before. By the way, it would be nice to have the sgf file with variations so we can review it after.

  9. Younggil An says:

Hi Che, thanks for your feedback.

I also appreciate your suggestion about having sgf file with variations. That’s a good idea, and I’ll try to put the variations for later commentaries.

I didn’t save the variations for next few few commentaries, but you’ll see them with sgf after that.
