At Go Game Guru, we like to keep the Go news separate from other news. Here you'll find the latest news about what's been happening on our website, as well as articles that don't quite fit anywhere else.

Watch Baduk TV for free for a limited time

I just want to let all Go Game Guru readers know that, due to the generosity of Baduk TV in Korea, the live stream of Baduk TV will be available for free for a little while. Probably until July. Baduk TV felt that Go players outside of Korea might not know who they are and wanted to give everyone a chance to see their programs.

Free Go lesson competition: Game review attached

Earlier this year, I announced a competition to win a free, 90 minute Go lesson with me. To enter, you just had to help us tell more people about Go. I’d like to thank everyone who took part and introduced Go to new players! Here’s a copy of the teaching game, with comments, for you to review.

Happy lunar new year – 2012

You might have noticed there’s been a lack of Go news recently? There’s a good reason behind this hiatus as Korean and Chinese pros take a well deserved break to welcome in the Year of the Dragon, which begins on January 23, 2012! I’d like to wish you all a happy lunar new year!

Merry Christmas and happy new year from Go Game Guru – 2011

We’ve reached the end of another year and what a busy one it’s been! Younggil, Jing and I would like to wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy new year. We’ll all be taking a bit of a break for what’s left of the year and spending time with our families, so we won’t be around to talk to you about Go or answer questions for a week or so. Have a safe and happy holiday with your family and friends.

Happy 1st Birthday Go Game Guru!

Can you believe that it’s already been one year since we started Go Game Guru? It really doesn’t seem like it, but the calendar disagrees with me. On August 22, 2011 it’s Go Game Guru’s 1st birthday! It’s been a really busy year for Younggil and I, working, learning, making this website, travelling and of course, playing Go. Thanks to all our readers! There’s no way we would have kept working on this thing for so long without your advice and encouragement.
