    1. If Price is under $35 please pre-order.
    2. What is the price?.
    3. Why isn’t the price on the website? Lack of price information may inhibit pre-ordering by other people, not just me.

  2. Also how many pages does the book have, are the covers hard or soft, and what are the dimensions of the book?

  3. Wout Verheij says:

    Geoffrey, Tetsumi,

Click on “pre-order” just under the “Free sample”-heading and you will find most information (or click on the “order now” button); soft cover costs $ 49,99, hard cover costs $ 79,99, dimensions 21.6 cm x 27.9 cm, 625 pages. I can’t find the thickness of the book. Maybe GGG can supply that info. I agree that this essential information should be on the news page.

  4. David Ormerod says:

Thanks for the feedback guys. This is just a quick comment to let you know that I’ll update the information on this page within the next 24 hours.

As florian and Wout Verheij said above, it is mostly there if you click through to the product page (where we always list full product details). The thickness of the book is about 3.3 cm (1.3″). It’s an 8.5″ x 11″ book (US Letter size).

For those who aren’t happy with these prices, a $9.99 e-book version is coming soon. The paper version is a brick of knowledge, so it costs a lot to print.

Right now I need to sleep, as we’re under a lot of pressure with the AlphaGo match recently. It’s kind of like reporting on the Jubango, but squeezed into the space of a week. Our inbox is overflowing with questions from beginners and requests from journalists.

    Pre-ordered.

I’ve replayed through the jubango game in the sample chapter and I am impressed by the commentary. Plenty of solid advice on fundamentals, but also a lot of really advanced stuff. Thank for you for the work you put in this.

  9. Daniel Filan says:

Just wondering if the whole book will be Creative Commons BY-NC-SA licensed, or if that’s just for the sample.

  10. When will the e-book be available ? I’m so excited to read this book ^^

  11. Slightly disappointed at the high price as a uni student, but it looks really good so I might slowly save up for it!

  12. I have ordered the book. I look forward to receiving it in due course.

In the sample pdf it mentions that the sgf files can be downloaded form the given the link. However the link doesn’t work. I understand the files might not be ready yet, but it would be helpful to know that.

I’ve emailed you three times to no reply.

  13. Hans Soute says:

Please make the sgf files available.

  14. Great news, I am also interested in this book! David, it’s still possible to preorder it with free international shiping, or is the offer expired?

  15. Where on the site are the downloadable games from the book?

  16. Please can you provide the sgf files and advise where purchasers of the hardcopy can obtain the e-book, please?

  17. I received my copy shipped to the Netherlands today, and it is absolutely beautiful – all 600 pages. Nice large font with very readable spacing between the rows and excellent figures throughout. David and Younggil, I will treasure this as much as my original hardbound “Invincible”. Thank you so much – worth every dollar. It is a beast of a book, so I look forward to getting the PDF to carry around on my iPad.

  18. Nomghost says:

Just got a hardback copy of this for my birthday. It’s absolutely beautiful – I’m working through it now at a leisurely pace and loving how the games are explained in such detail, but without losing clarity or continuity. I think I’ll be enjoying this book for years. Great work guys 🙂
